Three of the Best Breakfast Places in and Around Neillsville, WI

With the right food and coffee, you’ll be ready for a great day. We would like to recommend a few of the best breakfast places here in Neillsville, WI, where you can expect homemade food, good service, and a great start to the day. You know where you can get a fast-food breakfast, but when you want something nicer, pile the family into your roomy Chevy Equinox and head on over to one of these spots.

Schmitty’s On Main

Everyone loves this place, and if you haven’t been yet, it’s time. They are found at 436 Hewett St, and they open up at 7AM every morning but Monday. You can expect good, homecooked food, great selection, nice portion sizes and prices, and very good service from staff who care. The atmosphere here is small-town proud in the best way.

We highly recommend their Mexican omelet, which comes with onions, peppers, tomatoes, black olives, pepper jack, and seasoned beef. It also has salsa and sour cream. Their Western skillet is another winner: hash browns covered in peppers, diced ham, eggs, swiss cheese, and served up with buttermilk pancakes. Their thick-cut French toast comes with cinnamon, their pancakes come with blueberries, and their garden hash browns are the stuff of local legend.

Mapleworks Café and Bar

Head over to 100 W 1st St in Granton to try breakfast here. They open at 7AM every morning, and their food is amazing. The owners are the friendliest you’ll ever meet, the prices are spot-on, and everything tastes homecooked. You can also get breakfast all day, so grab your eggs and bacon whenever you have a hankering for them! Their biscuits and gravy are especially not to be missed: and the serving sizes make sure you’re never going to leave hungry.

Try their Hungry Man special, which is three eggs, your choice of potato, and breakfast meat and then toast, served up with two pancakes or a slice of their French toast. Their pork chops and corn beef hash are amazing, and Randy’s Gut Buster is legendary: three eggs, hash browns, cheese, onions, two biscuits, with ladles full of sausage gravy. Also, while you’re there, don’t miss the unique blueberry French toast.

Merrillan Café

Last on our list is this place at 400 N Washington St. in Merrillan. they open up at 6AM, so if you’re an early riser, this is the spot for you. This is a true small-town diner experience, with good food and prices, great service, and staff that make you feel at home.

We love the pancakes here, which come with your choice or eggs and two bacon or two sausage links or patties. The breakfast pork chop is also out of this world and gets served up with hash browns or fries and some toast. The Belgian waffle is sweet and delicious, and we’re also fans of their corn beef hash.
