Trim Levels (Exterior)

The base LS trim starts us off with 17-inch silver aluminum wheels, power heated mirrors, LED daytime running lamps, a manual rear liftgate, and a front grille with lower active shutters. You also get to choose from a handful of standard metallic topcoats, including Blue Glow, Crimson, and Satin Steel. Higher trims, comprising the LT, ACTIV, and RS, offer additional shades such as Oasis Blue, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, and Vivid Orange Metallic. Various body upgrades are available as well, including a hands-free power liftgate, LED fog lamps, roof rails, splash guards, and a tubular nudge bar, just to name a few.

Engine (Power)

This SUV runs with an ECOTEC 1.2-liter turbocharged engine mated to a continuous variable transmission. Together they produce 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. They also partner with automatic start/stop technology and a driver shifter with tap-up and tap-down controls for smooth transitioning. An optional ECOTEC 1.3-liter turbocharged engine raises the total output to 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. This unit is standard on the ACTIV and RS, while a nine-speed automatic transmission is exclusive to the all-wheel-drive RS.

Performance

The Chevy Trailblazer returns 26 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway in all-wheel drive. The front-wheel-drive stats average 29 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The ACTIV and RS, however, bump the latter figure to 33 mpg. Moreover, this model boasts a standard set of antilock disc brakes, an electric power steering system, and a ride-and-handling suspension. Accessories such as 17-inch sport terrain tires and off-road suspension tuning are available with certain trims, as is trailering equipment that enables you to haul up to 1,000 pounds.

Interior

Cabin benefits for this SUV include seating for five passengers, 54.4 cubic feet of cargo space, at least 39.4 inches of legroom, and a minimum 53.8 inches of shoulder room. Additional perks include front bucket seats, rear heating ducts, steering wheel-mounted controls, and a silver and chrome shift knob. Multimedia outfits such as a 7-inch color touch screen, SiriusXM trial subscription, and Wi-Fi hotspot are commonplace as well. Premium items, on the other hand, range from an interior humidity sensor and driver's seat lumbar support to a rear center armrest and a panoramic power sunroof. Others such as an 8-inch infotainment touch screen, HD radio, seven-speaker Bose audio system, and wireless charging pad are also on the market.

Safety Features

The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer offers ample safety equipment: 10 air bags, automatic high-beam headlamps, a remote panic alarm, and teen driver-tuned technology.
